Disability Bowls

Parking

Prince Arthur has a large car park with disabled parking bays near the main entrance.  The barrier will lift when a car approaches and a member’s card is needed to exit the car park.

Nearest public transport links

For those members using public transport there are bus stops for the 116 bus just outside the Club in Prince Arthur Road, and there are bus stops, just a short walk up the road from the Club and opposite the King Charles Hotel in Brompton Road, giving access to the Medway Towns and beyond.

Flat access or ramps available

Access to the Club is through double opening doors with the main social area being on one level.  Access to the bowling green is via a ramp or steps and for those using a wheelchair an extra ramp can be put in place to get down to the green itself.

Hand rails and disabled toilet

There are hand rails down each access to the rinks and there is a hand rail between rinks for  members to get down to the green.  There is a disabled toilet on the main social area.

Designated sessions or coaching sessions available

We offer Coaching sessions led by qualified Coaches.  We encourage all new members to join in the Organised Roll Ups where existing members will always give assistance and encouragement to newer bowlers.

If you want coaching then please contact the club who will advise of any sessions currently available or contact the coaches to arrange new sessions as needed.

Equipment available (bowling arms/wheelchair/bowls etc..)

We have 3 wheelchairs designated for use on the green and a full range of different size and weight bowls available for hire for a small donation

Call the Club on 01634 281243 to find out more.

Also on Saturday mornings the Club runs Boccia Sessions, a Paralympic sport and a seated game very similar to Indoor Bowls, and just as competitive. See Here.
