V.E. DAY CELEBRATIONS  – SAT 03/05/25

A great turnout, saw 49 players and 5 guests, (so thank you one and all for supporting this), gather for the PARIBC Very Elderly Day………sorry………the VE Day, 80th celebrations at the Club, for an afternoon of “nearly” fun, different formats of bowls.  Each format was over 5 ends and ranged from normal bowls, to Boccia bowls, to yard stick, to behind the jack.  And as usual, the rules for all of these, even the normal bowling, led to much confusion.  However, at the end, we had a winning triple, of Lesley Homewood, Sandra Tillman and Jo Whiteoak, so well done ladies!  Winner of the pre match spider was Dave Cook, who now says he prefers spiders to dogs!  And the best turned out winner was once again Bob Blood, in his now infamous, Union Jack suit, but thanks to all those who made the effort on the red, white and blue theme, for the colourful afternoon, including Patricia Wells in her blue…ish, winceyette PJ bottoms!  Thanks to Gemma and Max for the food and to Sue and Marc for the pre match bar and also the non – alcoholic punch…which was a first for Sue, as she had never made one before without booze in it!  Thanks also to Sue who kindly took the pics below, with apologies to the missed rink pic, (Viv, Colin, Dave, Ray, Bruce and Madge)………I know, I know, if you want a job doing, etc., etc., ho, ho!!!  See you in 10 years, for the 90th celebrations!
