Prince Arthur v K C I B A
Saturday 17th January
PARIBC men lost to the Kent County men’s team, (8 rinks), by 136 shots to 179 shots. Our top rink comprised, John Kelly, John Mercer, Roger Spice and Barry Tomlin.
At tea PARIBC were ahead, however the strength of the County team told in the second half as they ran out winners, but the club did give them a good run for their money!
The closeness of the scores probably owed a lot to the fact that the men are now in the Kent league and the experience learnt from this involvement, playing at a higher standard, helped them to compete more and give a better account of themselves.
Come the end, a lot of the rinks were very close. Noted in dispatches must be Club President, Jim Masters, who having played the 100 up competition in the morning, then turned out for another 21 ends in this match and then played yet another 21 ends on the Sunday morning in the KML match against Oyster IBC.
