MATCH RESULTS / REPORTS.
Sun 18/10/26: PARIBC = 152 v Thames Sports BC = 57:- Won by 95 shots.
Huge thanks to the Oppo for still travelling from across the water, (the Thames!), to come and play and fulfil this fixture, when we had to change the format of the afternoon from a meal match to a tea and biccies match, at the last minute, due to circumstances outside of our control. A very social afternoon was enjoyed by all, with plenty of good, humoured banter to be heard across the whole green and almost 11 sets of brand-new woods on display and in use and all by PARIBC players. Check the notice board for some good second – hand bargains coming up! Top rink were Guinness Whatman, Colin Medhurst and Mike R Smith, (old players, with old woods, what is not to like?!), so well done to them. We also welcomed back Dave Sutherland, (and good lady wife, Fran), into the fold after almost a year’s absence and it was just like he had never been away, with a dropped 6 on one end, followed by a dropped 7 on the last end, yet he and his team still managed to win, proving he has still got it! Thanks to the caterers for our tea and biccies, to Sue Smith on bar duty, to Marc Carr for taking the dosh and to Cheryl Elliott for stepping in at the last minute to play and offer up betting tips, for this week’s racing at Plumpton and Kempton Park!

Sun 11/10/26: PARIBC = 116 v Greenwich BC = 64:- Won by 52 shots.
Unfortunately, this scheduled 06 rink match was reduced to 05 rinks when the Oppo could not raise a full team. Then on the day itself, once again we had a player no show, so, my thanks to Heather Allan and Fred Linger for standing down. At least Heather got to practise with her brand new, very expensive woods, although they didn’t seem to work, so she was in talks with Jean Lacey to sell them to her, for a fraction of what she bought them for and go back to using her old woods! It’s Peter Britton time!!! Thanks to Dave Cook yet again, for taking on the Capt’s armband, (soon to take over from the current incumbent, as he is doing a much better job!) and to all those who played and showed off the Club, in the right light and spirit, despite the problems on the day. With bar staff also going sick, late in the day, then thanks to Dot Elliott and Val Cook for manning the honesty fridge and stock room re – fills and the usual huge thanks to the caterers, for the lovely post – match meal, enjoyed by all.

Sun 04/10/26: PARIBC = 68 v Deangate Ridge IBC = 142:- Lost by 74 shots.
The opening home game of the season on Sun, saw us royally hammered by visitors Deangate Ridge IBC, losing on all 06 rinks. Fair play and well done to the Oppo, as they out bowled and out played us, across the board. Thanks to Dave Cook for taking on the Capt’s armband and to all who played, (and the reserves), to the caterers for the tea & biccies and to Katie for bar duties.

Wed 30/09/26: Ashford IBC = 100 v PARIBC = 94:- Lost by 06 shots.
Sickness late on Tues evening and with no reserves, meant we had to travel 02 players short, but the Oppo kindly provided us with two of their members to play for us. Well done Guinness for sorting this. A very enjoyable and sociable afternoon played out and in a close fought match, we only lost by a handful of shots, which was a great effort and blimey, even the Club Captain was on a winning rink, for the first and only time in six seasons! Our top rink, by a long way, comprised our established lady bowling stars, namely Deidre Williams, Patricia Wells and Rose Gibson, so well done to this triple of “old gals”! Thanks to all who played, to those who drove and gave lifts and to the two lady supporters, (both with and without glasses!).

Sun 27/09/26: PARIBC v Cliffe BC:- Cancelled by Oppo.
The first match of the season was unfortunately cancelled, as the Oppo could not raise a side.
