Ladies Kent Invicta Triples League

Yesterday, 7 October, 2026 we welcomed White Oak ladies for our first home match of the season.

Last Saturday we lost at Swale so were hoping for our first win.

We started very well and had a good lead of 20 shots after 5 ends, and although White Oak were getting more used to our carpet, we managed to stretch our lead to 32 shots after 10 ends had been completed. We were winning on 4 rinks at this time.

I’m pleased to say that we steadily increased our lead during the last 8 ends and won by 41 shots overall. An excellent result.

Final score:   Prince Arthur 114  Whiteoak 73

Five of our rinks won their games giving us a total of 14 points out of the maximum 16 available.

Our thanks to Brian Gee and Chris Moreton for playing for us.

Also thanks to Gemma and her team for a very welcome meal and to Soozie Moreton for manning the drinks fridge.

Our next game is at home to Bromley on Wednesday, 14 October.  Please note if you put your name on the call up sheet for this game you will be playing.

Ladies Kent Invicta Triples League

Well here we go again with our first match of the new season and aiming to defend our second title of the Triples League!

Also the new league introduced last season called 4, 3, 2 in which 9 ladies played pairs, triples and rinks proved to be very successful. These games are played in addition to the Triples League and we took the trophy in this league too!

So all to play for this season and for our first game we travelled to Swale on Saturday, 3 October 2026.

The green here is faster than Prince Arthur’s and required some adjustment and by 5 ends Swale had accrued a 13 shot lead over the 6 rinks being played.  Unfortunately, Swale then took control and by 11 ends we were 44 shots adrift and had 1 winning rink with a second tying. Over the final ends Swale increased their lead to a commanding 56 shots and won the game overall.

Final score:  Prince Arthur 74  Swale 130

Our grateful thanks to Colin Capeling, Tim Fletcher and Fred Linger for playing.

We earned 4 points out of a possible 16 as we finally won on 2 rinks.  A good effort from everyone and a challenge to reverse the result when Swale visit us for the return match on Sunday, 15 November at 2.00 pm.

Our next match is this Wednesday, 7 October at home to White Oak at 2.00 pm where we hope to gain our first win.

I would also like to mention the ‘Six of the Best Game’ taking place at Thanet on Thursday, 15 October at 11.30 am.  One player is required to play with two others against three ladies from Thanet.  If you are available then please contact Deidre on 01634 811627.  A lift is available.
