Kent Invicta Triples League (Ladies)

Team Selection

Reports

Yesterday, 29 October 2025, we welcomed the ladies of Sevenoaks Bowls Club to Prince Arthur.

We started very well, and took advantage of the opposition struggling with the difference of our carpet to their own, which enabled us to take a 14 shot lead after the first few ends.

We managed to sustain and gradually increase our lead to 44 shots after 10 ends, winning on 4 rinks, drawing on one and losing on the other.  During the last 2 ends, there were 2 rinks playing very close games but Sevenoaks managed to win both these games.

Final Score:  Prince Arthur 128  Sevenoaks 65

A very pleasing 63 shot difference, with wins on 4 rinks and 2 losses.

This meant we scored 12 points out of a possible 16.

We enjoyed a meal from Gemma and her team after the match.

Our next game is away at Oyster on Wednesday, 12 November at 2.30 pm. The coach will leave the club at 1.10 pm.

Well here we go again with our first match of the new season and aiming to defend our title!

This season we will only be playing one game at home and one away against the other clubs in the league.  However, a new format has also been introduced called 4, 3, 2 in which 9 ladies will play pairs, triples and rinks. More details will be available nearer the time the games are to be played.

So for our first game we travelled to Swale on Saturday, 4 October 2025.

The green is faster than Prince Arthur’s and required some adjustment, and by 7 ends Swale had accrued a 17 points lead over the 6 rinks being played. Within the next few ends, we managed to claw back those points and were equal at 48 points all. Unfortunately, Swale then took control and by 14 ends we were again behind by 18 points but had 2 winning rinks with a third very close. Over final 4 ends Swale increased their lead to 28 points and won the game overall.

Our grateful thanks to Marc Carr (VC) and Tim Fletcher for playing.

Final score:   Prince Arthur 84  Swale 112

We gained 6 out of a possible 16 points as we finally won on 3 rinks. A very good effort from everyone and a challenge to reverse the result when Swale visit us for the return match on Sunday 16 November.

Our next match is this Wednesday, 8 October at home to Whiteoak at 2.00 pm where we hope to gain our first win.
