Vic Ashby match – Sunday 02nd November 2025.
With a couple of no shows on the day, it meant a bit of last minute re – jigging of planned teams and we ended up with 5 rinks of triples and 1 rink of rinks, (my thanks to the eight people who kindly played the latter), for the annual Vic Ashby memorial match. The winning triple was the trio of Peter Edwards, Heather Allan and Margaret Head and they are pictured below, collecting their prizes, from Irene Ashby. They will also have their names added to Vic’s bench in due course. Winner of the pre – match spider, (in the dark), was Alex Routen, with Gio Larini the runner up. With plenty of noise across the whole green, it seemed all enjoyed the usual good – natured afternoon and it was good to see Club Prez Dave Elliott, back in the fold and back bowling after his recent health probs. Many thanks to all who turned out and supported the day, to Gemma and Maxine for the lovely post – match meal, to Pam Fincher for doing the bar, to Sue Smith for taking the pics and to Marc Carr for locking up.
